About the free toolkit

Voice, Influence, Be Empowered

This toolkit is aimed at any organisation seeking to engage and support girls, in any and all settings and locations. Our goal is to make readily available the learning and resources that have emerged from our 5 year project – resources developed in conjunction with the girls themselves.

The toolkit is designed to be user friendly, and to allow you and your organisation to take from it only what you need. Choose from one of the approaches below, or mix and match, depending on the needs of your young women!

Download ready-to-use sessions

Throughout this toolkit there are tried and tested session plans, which you can download and use straight away. These cover a great range of topics and are found in different sections. Some examples:

  • Chances: a selection of sessions around wellbeing, self-esteem, healthy relationships etc.
  • Mind The Signs – sessions to accompany our online graphic novel on peer-on-peer abuse
  • Cooking – from our virtual café events

Develop resources to suit your own purposes

A good example of this could be our POP campaign. We have developed sessions and workbooks which can be used in their current form, but you may wish to use the graphic novel as a start-point to develop your own creative sessions! Film-making, drama groups, discussion circles – our story can be used as a way into all of these and more.

Incorporate basic principles

It may be that some of the projects and campaigns we have run do not meet the particular needs of the YWAG you work with, but you wish to apply some of our learning across different contexts. To this end, we have included illustrative case studies – for example PadATTACK – and basic principles and steps to follow – for example in running online sessions or recruiting Vibe Champions.
